Recipe Review: Chocolate Peanut Butter Mug Cake

Happy Friday, foodie friends! You know what's popular these days? Buzzfeed, duh. You know what's even more popular?! MUG CAKES!

I don't know about you, but I keep seeing these short, fun, delicious looking videos on Buzzfeed of food they're making, and of course some of that includes these delicious looking mug cakes. The most recent one was of this beautiful Raspberry & Ricotta Mug Cake. I was finally on board.


I then saw this Cookie Butter Mug Cake, and I believe my actual words were..."mmermmmemr." God bless the food gods. I figured this is what I would be undertaking.

Here's the deal. In theory this is a great idea for single/lazy/baking-impaired people. Unfortunately, I did not end up loving the results.  Yes, the cake smells good. Yes, the cake looks good. Yes, the cake has decent flavor. The biggest problem is that this cake is too dry!

I followed the instructions to a T. The only other difference was a I used peanut butter and a scoop of chocolate powder in replacement of the cookie butter.

I'm not done making these though. I'm going to try again, but I need your suggestions! Have you made one before? What is it missing?! I'm thinking a little milk or sour cream would make a softer cake or maybe a little oil? Ahhh! Next time it will be a success.
