Cinnamon Apple Cocktail

Hey everyone! The name's Kayla and you may or may (read: probably) not remember me. I'm a 28 year old girl with a passion for food, music, and pop culture! I'd like to thank Warren, Holly, and Rosie for having me back again, especially for a sweet and boozy holiday edition of Blog To Taste!

There's a lot to love about the holidays: food, friends, family, and of course an abundance of delicious drinks! In my family, it's always important to have the drinks flowing at our holiday party. Here's a fun signature drink to round out your next holiday party whether it be with your friends, family, or heck, why not break it out for yourself? This is a sinfully spicy yet fresh take on everyone's favorite holiday apple cinnamon desserts. As you can see, I had a bit of an accident with mine. This thing popped worse than a bottle of champagne! Take note: always add your fresh (and slightly pulpy) juices before carbonated beverages.

Here's what you'll need:
1/2 oz of Absolut Orient Apple vodka
1 oz of Goldschlager cinnamon schnapps
Apple juice (fresh or bottled, I'll be using fresh)
Ginger Ale
2 apple slices, frozen
1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tbsp sugar, combined

Steps:
1. Start by wetting the rim of your glass with a bit of apple juice, then using a saucer, turn your glass upside down in your cinnamon and sugar mixture and gently twist the glass to coat the rim with your mixture.
2. Once finished, coat both frozen apple slices in the remaining cinnamon and sugar mixture, set aside.

3. Add your 1/2 oz of Absolut Orient Apple vodka to glass, followed by 1 oz of Goldschlager cinnamon schnapps to the bottom of your glass.
4. Add a few splashes of apple juice, to your liking, fresh if possible!
5. Fill the glass with about 8 oz of ginger ale
6. Garnish with your frozen apple slices. You can forego the apple slices in favor of ice and garnish the top with a bit of the cinnamon sugar if you wish! I tend to use frozen fruit in place of ice whenever possible to keep from diluting my drinks.

There you have it! This recipe can be switched up in so many ways. Perhaps next time I'll try using Fireball Cinnamon Whisky or Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire or mix it up with a few squeezes of citrus. Try it out at your holiday party and let me know how much you loved it!

Thanks for having me guest post Blog to Taste and thank YOU for checking it out!
